You Ask - I Answer
How do I make an appointment?
There are several ways to make your appointment:
-
Appointments are available from Wednesday to Friday, 9:15am - 5:00pm. During your intake procedure, your first appointment will be made after discussing a suitable time for you. We are often unable to pick up the phone, however you can leave a message or send a text, which is usually responded to within 24 hours (Tues - Fri).
-
Use the Contact Form.
-
Make a forward booking at the end of your appointment.
-
If you are a current client, use your Halaxy account login to access Appointment book.

What are your Session Fees?
Session fees are $240 for a 50 minute appointment under most circumstances. If you have a current Medicare Mental Health Care Plan, you will receive a rebate of $141.85, deposited to your Medicare linked bank account at the end of your session.
Please Note: The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended Fee for a standard 50 min appointment is $311. Reduced fees in this practice are made possible through clients using the online Halaxy systems to reduce administration costs. Your co-operation in utilizing this helps keeps your fees lower!

Clients with DVA referrals have fees fully covered.
How does payment work?
Payment of full fee is due at the end of your session using your credit or debit card. Medicare rebates will be processed at the same time and refunded by Medicare directly to the bank account you have linked to your Medicare details.
DVA and Work Cover fees are directly billed to those organisations.

Private Health refunds are available by presenting your paid invoice to your fund provider. This invoice will be automatically emailed to you upon full payment of account at end of sessions.
Do I need a referral?
To claim up to 10 sessions on a Medicare rebate per calendar year, you will need a "Mental Health Treatment Plan" prepared by your doctor for an initial 6 Sessions. An additional 4 Sessions can be accessed after your Doctor re-assesses your need (for a total of 10 rebated Sessions per calendar year). Please let your doctor know in advance when requesting this, so they can allow the extra time needed.

You can also see a Psychologist as a private client, without a referral, at any time. Clients with Private Health Care may be able to claim a rebate through their provider.
Do you offer Bulk-Billing?
We are not able to offer Bulk Billing at this time. Clients with genuine financial hardship and a Health Care Card can receive a reduced fee to assist. Please feel free to discuss this if it applies to you.
Do you charge cancellation fees?
As you can appreciate, an appointment with a psychologist means at least an hour of time is booked especially for you. Unlike GP offices, we do not have the capacity to "fit people in" at the last minute if someone does not present for their appointment.
A minimum of 48 hours before your appointment time is needed to cancel. You will be charged a $100 +10% GST fee if the appointment is unable to be re-booked.

To help avoid this, a reminder is sent to your phone 3 days prior to your booking to which you can simply reply Yes or No.

Life does sometimes present us with emergency and unexpected situations. If you are unable to make your appointment at late notice, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss the circumstances and re-organise your appointment.
